The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has made a contribution of Dh1 million to Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital to sustain the hospital’s research in pediatrics, assist families of patients, and offer a social safety net.
Khaled Al Thani, deputy secretary-general of AMAF, presented the donation cheque to Dr Abdullah Ebrahim Al Khayat, CEO of Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital.
The institute managed over 60,000 cases in the past two years and presently contains 200 beds, 28 specialty clinics, and five “excellence centers” devoted to heart and kidney diseases, mental health, intensive care, and neuroscience.
Al Thani said: “Enhancing health care provided to the community in general, and to children in particular, all the way through the association of a variety of entities for a better health future is an essential part of uplifting the quality of life. This is obviously outlined in the 50-Year Charter that was unveiled by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in January 2019.”
